My friends and family know when I am working on a new piece it means I am "talking to the wood". I work with many mediums, but I enjoy wood the most because it is perfectly imperfect. I use that time to dive deep personally, reflect on blessings, or to just simply clear my head.
Here are just a few of the projects I have completed or am working on.
FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION
REPURPOSED
Repurposed from the Habitat for Humanity store in Charlotte, North Carolina. Original colors were yellow and green. The footboard was intended to be the headboard, however, I wanted it to be a bit more dramatic, so I utilized three interior doors as a headboard and anchored them to the wall.
This was originally a bunkbed. I utilized pieces from the other level of the bed to make the back taller for a couch. The logs were sanded and protected for the outdoor environment.
I utilized a leftover cabinet from our kitchen install, painted it black and added a live edge wood slab that I cut, sanded, and added a coat of polyurethane too. I also repositioned the handles and installed automatic door hinges.
